Bio Filter
The Bio Filter enables complete filtration of liquid waste when included with the Aquatuti composting toilet system.
Why Include the Bio Filter?
We recommend adding a Bio Filter to your composting toilet system. It offers comparable results to both the UV and the Nitrate filter through a naturally occurring renewable resource available in New Zealand.
The Bio Filter is an optional component for the complete filtration of liquid waste that comes from the Aquatron separator on the Aquatuti Enviro Composting Toilet system.
It eliminates the need for either a UV Filter, Nitrate filter, or grey water system. The outflow can go direct to gardens or soak hole as irrigation.
Complete filtration solution
Eliminates the need for either a UV filter, nitrate filter, or grey water system.
Very low maintenance
Bio material typically only needs replacing every two years.
Built to last
Made in New Zealand to the highest quality standards.
How the Bio Filter Works
The Bio Filter uses a simple five-layer filtration process:
- A drip feeder to slowly introduce the liquid at an even dispersal rate,
- A layer of weed mat to stop anything from coming back up the process. It also stops any large chunks that happen to fall through the holes
- It moves through a large quantity of bio material. This is where the treatment of grey water happens
- After being processed by the bio material it will then fall through another weed mat
- Finally it flows onto a corrugated mat before allowing the water to drain out to the soakage hole or leach field.
Depending on use, the bio material will need to be replaced every couple of years.
